HOUSEKEEPER

Each unit has its own dedicated housekeeper. His / her daily duties include: general cleaning of the chalet; making of beds; washing the dishes and laundry etc.

Working hours are from 08h00 till 16h00 weekdays with lunch between 12h00 and 13h00.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays they finish at 12h00. Please take into consideration that our staff have to walk long distances to and from work.

Unit rental includes the cost of the housekeeper; however, tips are welcome at your own discretion.


GILLIES & EXTRA HOUSEKEEPERS

If you require any of the above-mentioned services can be arranged in advance with your reservation at an additional charge. They will receive a permission card that indicate what casa they allocated for that period.


INVENTORY

Please be advised that any items missing or broken will be invoiced to your account. Each house has an itemised inventory list which should be checked on arrival and departure with the housekeeper. Please inform management of any breakages.


BARBECUE / FIRE HAZARD

Only charcoal may be used for barbecuing (NO WOOD).

Please use the outside barbecue area provided for this purpose.

We request that you do not light fires in the barbecue areas during extremely windy conditions as the roofing material is highly flammable and could result in tremendous damage to the entire resort.

No mosquito burners, candles, paraffin lamps or open flames are allowed in the house!


ELECTRICITY

Please be advised that the resort relies on EDM for power supply. Please ensure you bring along torches and battery-operated lights should EDM power go down.

The resort does have a backup generator that we operate when there is extended EDM power failures.

In the case of power cuts there will also be no water due to the fact that it works on an electric pressure pump. Please always have some spare water available for such times such as drinking, brushing teeth etc.


MAINTENANCE

If you have any maintenance issues please report this to Tommy Schoeman +258 84 899 1517 as soon as possible so we can attend to it.


GAS STOVE

Please make sure the gas is OFF when the stove is not in use. If you need help with operating your stove you are more than welcome to ask the housekeeper who will assist you.

Please DO NOT wash the stove as it can easily be damaged. Housekeepers will be responsible for cleaning the stove and oven.

Only a soft cloth may be used to wipe up any mess or spillages.


THE GEYSER

Please do not attempt to change any settings on the geysers be it gas or an electric geyser. If a problem occurs please contact reception or Tommy. In the case of your gas bottle running out please contact Tommy for a replacement bottle.


TOILETS

The resort houses work with septic tanks.  Do not flush any foreign objects in toilet to prevent blockages in the system. Please use bins provided.


FURNITURE

No inside furniture is to be used outside.

No outside furniture or equipment may be taken down to the beach.


LINEN

The resort provides bed linen and mosquito nets.  Please respect the linen i.e. do not lie on beds whilst covered in tanning oil. Soiled and stained linen will be charged for.

No linen is to be used outside.

We do not provide bath & beach towels please ensure you bring your own.


LAUNDRY

Housekeepers will wash laundry at the casa every day, please provide your own washing powder and fabric softener.


WATER

Our water supply is from a borehole and is safe to drink, but please use sparingly and help us save and conserve the water that is available.

Hosepipes for boat & vehicle washing are strictly forbidden.

VENDORS

Please be advised that absolutely NO local vendors (pescadors, bread / fruit & veg sales people) are allowed in and around the resort for security reasons.

If you would like to purchase fish, bread etc please ask the Beach Bar or your housekeeper to arrange this for you.

ALL transactions from local vendors must take place on the beach NOT at your unit in the resort. Should you come across local vendors in the resort please report this to the office / security or your housekeeper IMMEDIATELY!

MEDICAL INFORMATION

Our resort is situated in a malaria area although we experience very low mosquito activity.

  1. Please take preventative prescription drugs as recommended by your doctor.
  2. Covering up, particularly at night when malaria carrying mosquitoes are most active.
  3. Using insect repellent on exposed skin.

In case of suspected malaria or other emergencies please contact management for medical assistance!


DRIVING IN THE RESORT AND ON THE BEACH

PLEASE KEEP YOUR TYRE PRESSURE AT 0.80 BAR WHEN DRIVING ON THE BEACH, AND AROUND THE RESORT.

(Driving on the beach and around the resort with a tyre pressure of more than 0.80 bar leads to damages occurring to our roads and your vehicle.)

Please ensure you have engage your 4×4 and the resort is not accessible with low profile 4x4s. Please note the speed limit through the resort and on the beach, is 15km per hour. Be aware of children on the beach and walking in the resort.
