ADDITIONAL RESORT RULES AND INFORMATION

  • All units are equipped with fridges, freezers & basic utensils (pots, cutlery, cups, plates & glasses).
  • All units have tiled floors, tiled bathrooms with shower, toilet & hand basins.
  • Please bring your own towels, dish cloths, cleaning detergents & toilet paper (only first roll supplied).
  • Charcoal is available in ± 50kg bags en-route to the resort.
  • The currency accepted is Rands, Meticais, or Dollars.
  • Check in is from 2pm and check out before 10am. Keys are collected and returned at reception.
  • The number of people must not exceed the number of beds per house unless by prior arrangement.
  • NO PETS ALLOWED.
  • The Paindane reef is a protected reef. NO spear fishing within 300m of the reef. A fine can be imposed by the Maritime Officials if rules are not adhered to.
  • The Natural bay formed by the reef, is ideal for snorkelling, swimming, water sports and launching of boats. Always be aware of the current.
  • NEVER swim from the deepest point of the reef, to the beach.
  • Do not remove live coral or shells from the reef. Please do not stand on or touch the coral. It is illegal to buy coral from the locals.
  • Do not purchase undersize and “in berry” crayfish.
  • Access to the beach is permitted for 4 x 4’s only. You are allowed to drive only in front of Lighthouse Reef, Esperanza and Paindane Resorts. Driving on dunes is illegal, as is driving north or south from the beacons. A fine of will be imposed if you are caught driving out of the demarcated area.
  • Park your vehicle closes to the dunes and not below the high-water mark.
  • Motorbikes, scramblers and quad bikes are not allowed.
  • No persons without a valid driver’s license may drive on the beach and in or around the resort.
  • Jet skis and water bikes are not allowed into the bay, you can enjoy your sport on the north or far south side of the bay. Please be on the lookout for anglers, swimmers and divers!!
  • Boats can be parked at the house or in the boat area. Remove all unattached equipment, like fishing rods, batteries (if not locked up), diving equipment etc.
  • Please take into account speeding on the beach and around the resort. Driving speed should not exceed 15km/h.  Should you come across another guest speeding please indicate to them to slow down.  We ask each and every guest to please be vigilant at all times.
  • Please consider that there are other guests visiting the resort. Please keep your noise level and music low after 9pm.
  • Boats and skippers must have valid RSA seaworthy discs and skippers’ licenses.
  • Boat owners are advised that the local MARITIME & SEA FISHERIES officials may check your boat launch & fishing permits during your stay. These permits are a legal requirement and must be paid. Please enquire at the resort reception for permits.
  • The resort practices dune protection, please refrain from sliding down and playing on the dunes. The plants can easily be damaged resulting in wind and soil erosion.
  • Please do NOT throw sweets to children while driving as accidents can occur. If you want to bring sweets, pens, books etc for children please deliver at reception we will drop it off at local schools to hand out to the children.
  • Power plugs – The houses are equipped with 2-point plugs and 3-point plugs (South African). Please ensure you bring your own adapters.
  • Please supply us with a contact number where we can reach you in Mozambique.
  • Please keep our beach and resort clean do not litter
